NW Champs Results! 1st Place Figure Tall! Woo Hoo!

Ok okokokok, so here it is..... On Saturday the 18th of October I competed in the Norwest Bodybuilding and Figure Championships in Olympia Washington. I was up against 8 girls in the Figure Tall class who were in GREAT shape. Everyone I met there had worked so hard to get to where they were and it was an honor to be on stage with them. Out of the 8 I placed first. It was a win I was not expecting. I am still in disbelief and excited as ever to train for my next show! After that I had the chance to compete for the overall against two fantasticly fit women from the short and medium height classes. One of them was my friend and occasional training partner Brittani Simpson. She ended up taking the overall for the second weekend in a row. Congrats there Brittani!!

Overall it was an amazing experience! I need to thank a few people that made my success at these shows possible.

First of all Sean Calder my coach. You got me figured out man! Sean has helped me drop a ton of weight and learn so much about diet and training that I can officially say I am a fitness nerd now. I plan on sticking with Sean as my coach for as long as he will let me. Thank you Sean and Shannon. (www.seancalder.net)

Andre Scott - Posing Coach Extrordinare! You made me look like a lady... (until my inner nerd showed up) but my momma says I can stand purdy now! Who would have thought a huge bodybuilder could teach girls to stand and walk like ladies... you're good Andre... very good. Thanks Andre!

Christie Skelton - She designed both of my suits and I could not be happier! They fit beautifully and turned out better than I ever could have pictured! Double thank you for helping out backstage at the NW show. That was a huge help and everyone of us appreciated all of the butt gluing, suit tying, and advice you gave us. Thank you Christie! (www.ceradawear.com)

Northwest Competition Coloring - Bill you and your crew are AWESOME! They painted me for my first show and sponsored my color for the NW Bodybuilding and Figure Championships! IT LOOKED GREAT!!! I love the color and you guys really made me look like I had been doing this way longer than I have. I appreciate it so much! Thank you thank you thank you! (http://www.wiz-works.com/NWCompetitionColoring/)

To all the organizers- You have all worked hard putting on a great shows! I can't imagine how difficult it would be to manage a gagglel of depleted athletes. I imagine it must be like herding cats. So thank you for making things run smothly and putting on events that were great fun to attend. My family had a wonderful time at both of the shows!

And Finally.. to my fellow competitors. You ladies inspire me. I am so honored to be on stage with you and compete. No matter who wins or loses, we go on stage to present a prize not to win one. The stories I heard backstage of weight loss, beating physical hurdles, and hard work inspire me. Thank you guys for putting in your best effort. It was so much fun getting to meet you!

I got Third!! Woo Hoo!

So the 7 Feathers show was a huge success for me! I think that for a natural figure competitor placing 3rd to the amazing women there was great! I know I did my best and am pushing hard on this diet for the next show this coming Saturday the 18th.

Backstage was crazy. I had to ask someone to "glue my butt"... if you know what Bikini Bite is you know what I mean. It's amazing how that stuff keeps your suit from riding up your crack.

After the show I had dinner with my family. I was allowed a regular meal... well.. it was a buffet... and um... I did have a "regular" meal... um... but after I ate the "regular" food I was kneeling down giving liquid offerings to the porcelin god for a while. I don't know how I will adjust to normal food.

Anywho, a new friend of mine baked me a cake for after the show! I got it in the mail today it smells sooooo goood. I'm having such a hard time keeping my hands off of it! Check out his website. www.cake-buzz.com I can't wait to dig into it as soon as I'm off stage after the night show! Baileys flavor.. yum yum!

I got a lot of compliments on my suits at the show. For anyone who was wondering who made it it was Chirstie Skelton of Ceradawear.com Check out her website and give her a call. She will be up at the NW Bodybuilding and Figure Championships this weekend!

Thanks again to my coach Sean. Seriously man.. you're the best!

Carb Loading

Wow... so this morning was the second day of my carb load and I tried some oatmeal. I haven't had oatmeal in a few days.. this morning.. it WRECKED ME! I got a migraine and was in so much pain my eyes were watering. That SUCKED so bad... so I called my coach and he explained to me what had happened. Long story short, my body wasn't used to it and hated me for eating it... so I switched over to yams and I feel MUCH better. My headache is gone and I can actually function again. That really scared me this morning... Being that I'm getting ready for my FIRST figure competition I really didn't know what to expect. My coach tells me.. "If you don't feel like crap you must be doing something wrong.." Well, I don't feel like crap all the time but I definitely did this morning! Oy oy!

But life is good now. I'm just taking care of things before I head off for Canyonville, Oregon to the seven feathers resort for my show. I need to pack clothes, suits, and a lunchbox. I can't wait! I am so excited and nervous at the same time.

See some of you there!

Hey I Wrote A Book!

So this past weekend I was at a conference in Florida and I'm getting REAAAALLLLY close to my first figure competition. I travel a lot for business and had a hell of a time coming up with ways to stay on my diet while attending a conference that really didn't allow us any breaks. As if drinking two gallons of water per day and having to pee every few minutes wasn't bad enough I also had to annoy other people at the conference with my constant unzipping of my lunchbox. It's hard to lean down so fast on such a strict diet. Ok, I'll make this long story short... so I wrote an e-book. It tells you all of the little secrets that I have learned over the years to help making sticking to your diet while you travel a reality and not just wishful thinking. I'm going to make this book available for sale next month, so if you want to pre-order it just send me a message via the "Contact Tiff" link on the left. Let me know you want the travel book and I'll put you on the list so I can send you an update with price as well as the exact date it will be out.
I know that the information in that book is going to be stuff that people just don't tell you. It will make travel a breeze for any dieter out there. I wish you all SUCCESS getting the body that YOU want.

It's Show Time

Today is another step for me in my long journey from insecure fatty to confident and fit. I am nervous as can be and excited at the same time to compete in my first figure show! I have been afraid to tell the world where I am competing for fear that people would make fun of me. In the same way I got over wearing only baggy unflattering clothes I am going to use this opportunity to peel off another layer of insecure actions and let people in on that part of my life.
So anyone who reads this.... Along with anyone else you know is welcome to come! I guarintee it will be entertaining!
The show dates are october 11 2008 at the seven feathers resort and casino in canyonville, oregon. Doors open for the night show at 6 and the show starts at 7. Come cheer me on if you want to. The more the merrier! I will give it my all just as I have been on the diet and workouts. I can't wait!

Think and it will be

Ok, so I hear a lot about thinking about what you want and it will be so. So... I tried it... and I think it's working. Let's wait and find out.
Last night I hung out at a place that I would NEVER have been able to get into had I been the size I was before. I talked with people who NEVER would have given me a second glance. It is a truly amazing experience changing shape like this and seeing how people treat you differently. I feel like the exact opposite of those shows where the model puts on a fat suit. I've finally taken off my "fat suit" and it shocks me every day the way people react to me.
Just yesterday... two fee lunches! What the heck? When I was fat... never. Very rarely would someone actually be kind enough to pay for a meal for me... so I got used to paying for my own stuff. And that's fine... I'm an independent woman... but now... free food... hmmm... I like it! I just don't know how to react to this different treatment. Being out of town and dealing with people who don't know me or didn't know me when I was fat is a crazy experience. Nobody recognizes me from last year.. and frankly... I'm fine with that! It has given me a new start in this world. Every day I am grateful that I have had the opportunity to diet so hard and workout so hard to make REAL progress. I can see how the hot girls out there can get stuck on themselves and actually expect things to be given to them ALL the time. I guess guilt kicks in for me when people offer me things... but I'm getting used to saying "Thank You." I do appreciate all of the nice little things people do for me. Oh man.... I just.... I just had to write about it because I am completely changed and yet the same person inside.
I hope you all have a great day! and ... Thank You.... a lot... Thank You.

PS, on Tradeshow Day of a conference I suggest matching your shoes to your suit... hehehe... wait for a picture on this one. I think I look silly but I feel clever. ;)

Shooting In an Office Building

So I had a shoot with Duane Harper a photographer from Vancouver Washington. He's a really cool guy. We took over an office building in Vancouver and played around in there until it had to close. As we walked out an older man came up to me and said "Thank you for making my boring day end on a fantastic note." All I could do was smile and try not to laugh. I said you're welcome and he whistled his way out the door. Sorry.. it was funny.. I couldn't help myself.

Training In The Shack

Today I shot pictures for my upcoming book Hardcore Form for Bodybuilders. I used these two devilishly handsome men as models and I got to hang out and watch them grease up and take pictures of them... Yes.. I love my life some times. I'll let you know when the book is ready. It will show the proper way to do the exercises that people actually need to do.. no extra fancy crap that takes a bazillion dollars worth of specialty equipment... we rocked it in the shack. Reth is an MMA coach as well as strong man from Canby, Oregon. Jason is a natural bodybuilder from Oregon City, Oregon. What more can I say but.. WA WA WE WA! VERY NIIICE!
